Our small, friendly Student Support team provides advice and guidance to students to help them reach their full potential.
Support and advice is offered on a confidential and impartial basis on a wide variety of issues which may be directly or indirectly affecting their studies, learning support, disability support, help with budgeting and finance, pastoral care, bereavement and personal and childcare issues.
Sara Wazifdar, Student Support Officer
Sara has a strong background in psychology and mental health and is committed to strengthening mental health, disability support and well-being provisions within the UCO. Sara operates on an open-door policy and encourages students to drop-in to Room 3.09 for any guidance around:
- Mental health support
- Disability support
- Financial hardship
- Family, relationship and personal support
- Support with gender, identity and sexuality
Sara works closely with senior management, external agencies and other universities to ensure that UCO's Student Support department are meeting the needs of their student population.

Tiana Jones, Student Learning Advisor
Tiana is available to support students with their learning, as well as to provide the study skills needed to reach their full potential at UCO and beyond.
With over six years’ experience in supporting university students from a variety of universities, as well as general study skills, Tiana is also experienced in providing dyslexia and mental health support.
Students can request one-to-one or group support via email Tiana.Jones@uco.ac.uk. Drop-ins are also welcome, and she is based in Room 3.09.
