Sophie Tully, BSc (Hons) MSc DipPT AFMCP

Sophie is Nutrition & Dietetics Course Developer at the UCO.

Sophie first trained in biomedical sciences, specialising in pharmacology, before working as a laboratory research scientist developing specialised cancer therapies. After four years in the lab, and following her own health revelations, she returned to university to study a masters degree in Clinical and Public Health Nutrition at the world leading University College London (UCL), for which she gained a distinction. Alongside her masters degree, Sophie completed an Advanced Personal Training Diploma, graduating at the top of her class. During her time at UCL, she studied and worked under the eminent professor Mervyn Singer, a global expert in intensive care medicine, investigating the physiological impact of stress in critical care patients and mitochondrial disease.

Sophie launched her nutrition and health consultancy business shortly after completing her masters, and provides personalised nutrition support to elite athletes and sports teams as well as the general public, specialising in stress-based illness and chronic, complex health conditions. Sophie joins the UCO after several years of lecturing at the internationally renowned College of Naturopathic Medicine, and as Education Manager and Innovation Project Lead for nutritional supplement manufacturers, Igennus Healthcare Nutrition, and so brings with her extensive industry, education and clinical practice experience.

Sophie is a keen researcher and actively engages in regular training to expand her professional and practical skills. Personal highlights include gaining qualifications in Applied Functional Medicine, Nutrigenomics, Nutritional Support for Cancer Patients, Health Coaching and Motivational interviewing.
