Meet the UCO team: Fatimah Ayoade

In the first in our new 'meet the team' series, we find out about Fatimah and her role with the UCO and how she can help you with your decision and application.

Our busy admissions are a friendly, tight-knit team who are the first point of contact for all potential and new students. They know everything there is to know about studying at the UCO and love meeting new students and helping them from their journey with us from the very start, right up until the end.

Hi Fatimah, tell us a little bit about you please:

Well where do I start? I am a qualified osteopath, and currently work in a multidisciplinary clinic with acupuncturists, osteopaths, podiatrists and massage therapists.

My interests are in healthcare and getting people back to a level of health that they are happy with.

The majority of my family have worked in healthcare at some stage, so my influence with regards to health started from there.

I have a background and previous masters in biomedical science. Although I enjoyed this subject area, I really missed the people interaction, and being part of the frontline team and being an active part in patient recovery.

And now tell us about your job at the UCO:

I am in a great position to relate to perspective applicants as I completed the course myself and am now working in the profession. This means that students and applicants can ask questions relating to the courses and things they really want to know about  student life and lifestyle, as well as what life as a graduate is like.

In the admissions department I will be one of your first ports of call for any queries you have about our undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Once we receive your application, interviews will be arranged.

What do you like best about your job?

In my admissions role I really enjoy meeting new students and seeing their progression from application stage to the eagerly anticipated first day in September. It is even better when they come back to see you a month into the course to say how happy they are and that you helped them make the right decision for them.

Within a clinic setting I really enjoy how every day of my job is different and the people you meet that become patients, experience real benefit form treatment and advice. You are constantly developing and learning in this job.

Can potential students ring you for a chat to find out more?

Of course! In admissions we are always happy to talk to perspective students or even those that are looking at healthcare as options and are not sure if osteopathy is for them. So please do feel free to call or email us if you have an enquiry. (Email:  or  phone: 0207 089 5356 )

We run several open days throughout the year but are also happy to arrange meetings and tours of the buildings on an individual basis
