Due to a fire in the immediate vicinity of the Clinic which took place last weekend, the UCO Clinic is temporarily closed.
Update, Friday 13 November:
Following an initial assessment of the building it is now clear that repairs to the building will be a much longer-term project than originally anticipated. The London Fire Service have reported that the fire was the hottest they have attended this year, and significant damage has been done to the building infrastructure as a result. It is likely the building will need to remain closed for a period of 6-12 months, rather than the matter of weeks originally hoped.
However, to minimise any impact to our patients and students we are temporarily relocating the UCO Clinic to our teaching site on Borough High Street - just a five minute walk from the Clinic's usual home. We hope to be able to reopen for appointments within 2-3 weeks. Please check back for details.
We thank you all for your kind words and support as we overcome this latest challenge and look forward to welcoming you back soon. If you feel able to support us with a donation, however small, to our #YourUCO Clinic campaign you can do so on our Just Giving page.
Update, Monday 9 November:
While there has been no damage to the Clinic itself, power to our building has been affected. We are working to resolve the issue and will reopen to patients, students and staff as soon as possible. We are pleased to be able to report that nobody has been seriously injured as a result of the incident as far as we are aware.
We are attempting to contact patients with affected appointments at present, but if you have an appointment scheduled for today (Saturday 7 November) or Monday 9 November please do not attend. We will be in touch to rearrange your appointment with you as soon as possible, and will also provide an update on when we hope to resume normal service as soon as the situation is clear.
If you are a student or staff member due to be in Clinic next week, please check your emails for further information.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. We are committed to offering high-quality, affordable and accessible care for all and are looking forward to welcoming you be as soon as we are able to do so. Thank you for your ongoing support of the UCO Clinic.
