Learning difficulties and disabilities
We work closely with students who have learning difficulties, disabilities and long-term health conditions such as dyslexia or depression to support them in their studies. We can assist with applications for financial support, and have a link with a local needs assessment centre that can recommend reasonable adjustments, software and support to suit individual needs.
Specific forms of support include:
- assistance with applying for disabled students allowance
- the implementation of reasonable adjustments
- diagnostic assessments
- technical needs assessments
- provision of support workers
We strongly encourage students to let us know about disabilities from the outset. This way, appropriate provisions can be made to support students through the application process and to ensure everything is in place for the start of their studies.
