We pride ourselves on being a caring, friendly and nurturing environment for our students, and continue to provide support to our graduates throughout their professional lives.

Mentoring

Starting a new career can be daunting, so we offer our graduating students an informal mentoring service as they take their first steps into professional practice.

Graduates are also great sources of information and advice for current students and are frequently invited back to the UCO to share their professional experiences.

Peer support

UCO Connect is the UCO’s alumni website, offering a free platform for graduates to network, exchange information, advice and ideas and keep up to date with news and opportunities from the UCO and the wider osteopathic community.

Employment opportunities

Each year the UCO Clinic recruits a limited number of graduating students to deliver appointments in its Associates Clinic. This opportunity allows new graduates to begin to build a patient list and earn an income from their services, while working within the familiar and supportive surroundings of the UCO Clinic, and without the overheads of private practice. Associates also receive mentoring, making it a valuable stepping stone into life as a practitioner.

Continuing professional development

All qualified osteopaths must complete a minimum amount of continuing professional development to remain on the General Osteopathic Council register and ensure their knowledge and skills stay up-to-date. The UCO offers a busy programme of CPD courses on a range of subjects, delivered by subject specialists and industry figures, which are available to UCO alumni at a discounted rate.

Postgraduate education

Many of our graduates return to us to continue their education and pursue their interests in specialists fields. UCO graduates receive a discount on our postgraduate courses.
